As part of the larger Canadian Unite for Children, Unite against AIDS campaign, a special India HIV and AIDS Campaign has been established to support AIDS prevention, awareness and treatment projects for children and youth in India. Chaired by Aditya Jha, the India HIV and AIDS Campaign aims to raise at least $3 million over three years through support from major donors, special events and corporate partnerships.

Aditya Birla Minacs Employee Campaign in North America raises over $32,000 for UNICEF

After a successful two-month campaign that coincided with Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, Aditya Birla Minacs employees throughout North America raised a total of $32,160.46 in support of UNICEF’s Unite for Children, Unite Against AIDS campaign. At a cheque turn-over ceremony held at the Minacs office in Toronto, UNICEF President and CEO, Nigel Fisher, thanked Minacs campaign champions, as well as all Minacs employees, for their generosity and commitment to this initiative. The amount raised will support UNICEF programmes that help prevent mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) in India. Specifically, these programmes help support women by minimizing the high risk of HIV transmission to their infants through appropriate testing and provision of antiretroviral medication (ARV).

The impact of Minacs' North American employee giving campaign will go a long way to help ensure that children are protected from the devastation that comes with AIDS.
